Nestled in the heart of this bustling oasis, Marks and Spencer isn't your average store—it's a haven bursting with charm, style, and a treasure trove of delights waiting to be discovered!

I'm absolutely fascinated by Marks & Spencer's presence in the UAE! Starting off as a quintessentially British store, I'm curious about how they keep that original vibe while embracing the cultural nuances of the UAE.

Thinking back to my wonderful time at M&S in the UK, especially at Westfield shopping center, I'm pondering how the branches here capture the essence of the UK stores. And guess what? Finding out that Marks & Spencer has been in the UAE for 25 years adds such an intrigue touch to this exploration. It's like uncovering a hidden gem!

So Before bidding farewell to the UAE, I decided to explore one of the Mark and Spencer stores in the area. So, grab your trusty bags, and let's embark on this exploration together!

Exact Location: Unit FF - 208 - 1 - Financial Center Rd - Downtown Dubai - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
Opening Hours: 9 am - 11 pm Contact Information +97180062637

Marks & Spencer's Department Store

While traveling there, I didn't anticipate the numerous branches available in the UAE. For context, I selected the Marks and Spencer store in downtown Dubai Mall, near the UAE airport, specifically on the first floor (LEVEL 1). This positioning makes it an ideal spot for last-minute shoppers like myself. Upon entering, I was promptly greeted by the staff, who assisted me with a smile. It happened to be a Friday during my visit, and the mall was bustling with a considerable crowd. So if you prefer a quieter experience, especially for introverts, you might find it more satisfying to visit on early weekdays, such as Monday to Thursday.

Despite my longing for a  coffee, I couldn't resist wandering through their apparel and clothing section. From dapper men's wear to elegant women's collections and cotton shirts, my eyes were drawn to their exquisite array of dresses—a weakness of mine! Before I knew it, I was holding onto three fabulous new dresses! The staff were so quick and friendly, making the shopping spree an absolute breeze. I was truly impressed by how efficient and easy the whole experience was. It felt like magic!

🧠 Fun Fact :Did you know that back in 1997, the announcement of M&S's plan to establish a branch in Deira, Dubai, marked the beginning of its expansion. The details revealed that it would be a 24,000-square-foot franchise store, developed in collaboration with Al-Futtaim Group. Prior to the grand opening in January 1998, management personnel underwent training at the Marks & Spencer location in Croydon, England.

For those curious about the price range, my purchases ranged from AED 500 to AED 1500, or approximately £100 to £300. I believe this is slightly higher than if I were to buy the same clothes in the UK branch when I was shopping for my family.

Anyway, after paying, I finally made my way to the eagerly anticipated café, where the moment of truth awaited.

M&S Cafe: What’s in there?

I think the standout feature at M&S is the exceptional customer service. As I walked right into the cafe, a friendly female staff member greeted me and provided excellent menu suggestions.

The ambiance is also amazing; I bet that if I went here on an early weekday, I could read my favorite book in peace. I ordered mushroom soup, a chicken Caesar salad, and a strawberry cream frappe. The food was delicious, and the pricing was very reasonable. I spent AED 75, and it was all worth it. I wanted to order more, but unfortunately, my stomach couldn't accommodate it.

For those curious about the prices, their menu ranges from AED 10 to AED 40, equivalent to £ 3 to £ 10. They offer a variety of choices, including salads, sandwiches, soups, wraps, breakfast sets, scone sets, and even meals for kids.

I enjoyed my meal while listening to my favorite playlist on Spotify. What a great day!

After finishing my food, I prepared myself and took a cab to the airport. It took me 30 minutes with minimal traffic, making it a perfect layover destination or a place to visit before your flight home.

I must say that this was one of the best experiences I had in the UAE. Oh, and I even bought three beautiful dresses that I can wear for my next travels.

Takeaways

Including a visit to M&S in my UAE Travel Itenerary was hands down the right call! The customer service was top-notch, though I must confess, the pricing of their English clothes at the department store is a tad higher compared to the UK. Still, I can vouch for the positive Google reviews – they're spot on!

From the scrumptious food to the warm ambiance and stellar customer service, M&S lives up to its stellar reputation. Oh, and here's a fun tidbit: They've got a website for those curious souls wanting to explore their offerings online. I've added the link for you in this review.

One aspect that amazed me was the opportunity to experience two cultures in one place; it felt like hitting two birds with one stone. I admire how Marks and Spencer here in the UAE showcased this. The overall experience was immensely enjoyable and fulfilling, leaving me eager to encounter similar offerings in other destinations.

So, how about you? Have you had the chance to visit Mark and Spencer UAE? If not, it's undoubtedly a must-visit destination. Stay tuned for my next travel story!
